First Insurance Welcomes New Assistant Vice President of Strategic Planning

HONOLULU – First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) has appointed Kenjiro (“Ken”) Kamoda assistant vice president of strategic planning, effective April 1, 2024.

Prior to FICOH, Kamoda spent more than 20 years with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire (TMNF) in claims, risk management, and in the retention and reinsurance planning areas, most recently serving as Head of Analytics in TMNF’s Property and Casualty Underwriting Department.  

“We’re excited to welcome Kenjiro Kamoda to First Insurance,” said Todd Takayama, President and CEO. “We are fortunate to have qualified leaders from our parent company, Tokio Marine, rotate in to fill this critical strategic planning role. In the short amount of time Ken has been at FICOH, he has already proven himself a valuable addition to our team.”

Kamoda has a bachelor’s degree in Science and Engineering from Keio University. He is a certified actuary and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan.
